Draco Malfoy is the icy blond Hogwarts student that Harry meets at Diagon Alley, although he doesn't quite like him much. Harry soon learns that Draco looks down at other people a lot - being mean to Ron when he first meets him and even mocking Hufflepuff house! How dare he! Harry learns quickly not to make friends with someone like Draco, who ends up being sorted into his preferred house, Slytherin, while Harry goes to Gryffindor. But he still runs into Draco more often than he'd like - with the pair fighting over a Remembrall during flying lessons and Draco challenging Harry to a midnight duel! Why can't people just be nice?
